Record, Edit, and Mix – Ardour is an Open source digital audio workstation application

A global team of musicians, programmers, and engineers collaborated to develop Ardour. Every stage of development can be viewed by anyone. The box can be opened like an old piece of hardware. No, you don’t have to, but one day even the most insignificant person will be useful.

A core group of Ardour users includes those who create audio and MIDI projects and want to edit, mix, and master them. Ardour’s top priority has always been to provide musicians with the best tools to record their performances live on instruments. For centuries, musicians have been creating music with carefully designed and well-built instruments, instead of playing electronic or pop idioms.

Synchronization to MIDI timecode and LTC is the best in the industry. Control MIDI machines by sending and receiving commands. The clock is synced with JACK transport. We support the Mackie Control protocol, MIDI controllers with pre-defined mappings, and dynamic MIDI learning. Almost any Ardour operation can be driven by OSC.

You can quickly and easily create and edit soundtracks for film and video projects with Ardour’s sample-accurate synchronization tools and video playback tools. It is the same tools and process used by composers to arrange audio and MIDI. You can use external hardware synthesizers or software instruments for sound generation. With Ardor, you can develop sounds, compose electroacoustic compositions, and edit multitrack MIDI files.

Export the soundtrack from a single video. An interactive timeline will display a frame-by-frame representation of the video. Sync the imported video to any of the available Ardour timecode sources using a video monitor window or full-screen display. Moving audio-regions with video frames is done by locking the audio-regions to the video. The video can be exported, cut, muxed with the current-session soundtrack, the start and end time can be changed, and blank frames can also be added.

Choose an audio interface that suits your needs. Make sure that your microphone is plugged in or that your keyboard is connected. Create a new track. Record the audio. The following operations can be performed on a file: cut, move, stretch, copy, paste, delete, align, trim, crossfade, rename, snapshot, zoom, transpose, quantify, swing, drag, drop.

It contains fader and solo effects, EQ, dynamics, inserts, sends, pre-faders and post-faders, syncs, monitors, and isolations. Ardour offer hundreds of plugins, the most flexible mixer architecture in the industry, and external controllers.

Download this completely open source digital audio workstation application now and enjoy your Recoding , Editing and Mixing with Music production.
