MiniKorg 700FS

miniKorg 700FS

Korg’s MiniKorg 700 was the first monologue synthesizer to be mass-produced. It’s been almost 50 years since then. This new mini Korg 700FS is actually a relaunch of the original Mini Korg 700S of 1974.

That instrument had a simple and distinctive design. We designed this new revision in partnership with Fumio Media. There is straightforward keyboard control. It bears mentioning that this makes the interface more intuitive. The synth is located directly above the main keyboard, making it easy to access.

As we mentioned, the MiniKorg 700 was originally intended as a sub keyboard – to be used during performances for additional lead or bass sounds. Two oscillators offer sine, square and sawtooth waveforms, plus two chorus types for fat sounds. FS also offers the same functionality. For those looking for even thicker, detuned sounds, the FS version is equipped with a second oscillator in addition to the original MiniKorg 700’s single oscillator.

A ring modulator is also present in the FS, just as in the S. It features an arpeggiator as well as pitch and modulation joysticks, along with a 37-note keyboard that has an after touch feature. MIDI in, a CV/Gate input, and a USB port are included. A memory button enables one to store favorite patches.

The filter circuit from the MiniKorg 700, was enclosed within the Volca Keys and Volca Bass. The filter will be tweaked mistreatment the distinctive individual controller; this consists of 2 sliders sitting below the keyboard for adjusting the cutoff frequency. The higher one controls the low-pass filter and therefore the lower one takes care of the high-pass filter.
